The meaning behind the shirt

Picture
The House of God
The word "duomo" is ultimately derived from the Latin word "domus", meaning house.  Many are familiar with the cathedral in Florence, Italy which is simply called the Domo or "domus Dei" which simply means the house of God.  As Christians, the Holy Spirit indwells us, and as such, we are the literal "house of God."

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word "duomo" is ultimately derived from the Latin word "domus," meaning house and is often used in reference to a church or cathedral ("Duomo Dei" would be translated "house of God").   As Christians (being indwelt by the Holy Spirit) we are the literal "house of God".

There way to God made open
In the Old Testament the people did not have direct access to God. There was a curtain in the temple to separate “the most holy place” (where the Spirit of God resided) from the rest of the temple. To enter the most holy place was to take your life in your hands. The high priest was the only one allowed to enter most holy place, and then, only once per year. Jewish tradition holds that the custom was to tie a rope to the high priest’s ankle before he entered the most holy place; that way if he entered the presence of God in an unworthy manor, and died, the rope could be used to pull his body out.

When Jesus died, the curtain that was used to separate the most holy place from the rest of the temple was torn in two (indicating that the way to God had been made available to everyone) and it was torn from the top to the bottom (indicating that God was the one who tore it).

And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom....

There is no longer a need for a Temple
Up until the time of Christ, the temple was as close as man could come to a "house for God"; it is where His Spirit dwelt and where He was worshiped.  But the advent of the Messiah (the Christ) changed all that.  From that time forward, the dwelling of God would be with man.  Paul explains this clearly in his letter to the church at Corinth

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
                                                                                   ~1 Corinthians 6:19

Symbolism in the shirt
The word Duomo is the main symbol in this shirt.  The idea is that the wearer is "the literal house of God".  The smaller words above and below the word Doumo is the Latin Vulgate Translation of 1 Corinthians 6:19:
"an nescitis quoniam membra vestra templum est Spiritus Sancti qui in vobis est quem habetis a Deo et non estis vestri"
"Do you not know that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God"
